What remains of this battery is a light observation post with an annex, which is located at the end of the runway of Ostend airport. The battery was equipped with a small anti-aircraft artillery tower, which had the purpose of bringing down aircraft. The battery was armed with six French 155 mm guns. The battery was bombed by the US Air Force, which led to the deaths of ten workers working in the dunes and to a great many serious injuries. After World War II everything except the fire control bunker was demolished. The lower floor of the bunker served as the calculation room and probably also the battery officer’s quarters. The upper floor was for observation. Three small buildings were built onto the bunker: a sanitary block and two personnel blocks (one of which is in ruins).
